On Wednesday, April 27th, the intermediates will have a listening assessment. To prepare, they can use the text used for their reading assessment last week. Students should study from the first sentence to the sentence that ends in "Mon pourboire! Mon pourboire!". Students that are on modified programs for French should study from the first sentence to the sentence that ends in "les chants des oiseaux" (the first paragraph).
There will be 2 components:
1) Translation: I will read sentences in French from the text and students will write down what they mean in English
- To prepare for this portion of the assessment, students can work toward translating the sentences from the reading passage.
2) Transcription: I will read sentences in French from the text and students will write down the words in French
- To prepare for this portion of the assessment, there are several "text-to-speech" websites (2 listed below) that will be helpful. Students can type out the text and have it read back to them. The speed can be adjusted as well. I highly recommend using one of these tools to help practice!
