Mon rapport - rough draft

11/6/2015

Students who handed in their graphic organizers have received them back with written and oral feedback. The next step is for students to start translating their sentences. The criteria was changed so that on Tuesday, November 10th, students are required to come to class with 8-10 sentences that use 2+ regular IR verbs, 2+ regular RE verbs and 4+ regular ER verbs, written in French.

The progression from the graphic organizer to the rough draft of their sentences should be fairly straightforward, although some students have some corrections and alterations to make (such as if they wrote past tense sentences, if they used irregular verbs and did not meet the regular verb criteria).

Example:
If one of our sentences is "Some people sell vegetables from their garden", we should have already identified and translated the subject (some people - certaines personnes), the verb (sell - vendre) and some of the vocab words we didn't know (vegetables, from, their, garden - des légumes, de, leur, jardin). Now we simply have to combine and conjugate.
"Certaines personnes" is a plural subject, so we will use the verb ending that we use for "ils", which is ENT. We remove the RE from vendre and add ENT --> Certaines personnes vendent
Next we add the vocab that is missing:
Certaines personnes vendent des légumes de leur jardin.

Any student who has not yet handed in their graphic organizer needs to do so as soon as possible or risk falling further behind. Don't forget to think about your future selves and get your work in on time and with less stress! I am available for help everyday after school and many days at lunch.
