Bonjour!
Reminder: on a daily basis, students are asked to read for (a minimum of) 15 minutes in French and to summarize what they read (even if they only read a paragraph). It is vital that students expose themselves to as much French as possible in order to facilitate their learning of this second language. The goal is to be able to summarize in French, but since this exercise targets reading comprehension more so than writing, the sentences can be English. Students are encouraged to work toward creating summary sentences in French. The sentences don't necessarily need to be written down, so long as the student remembers what they are going to share. Students will share their summaries with classmates in class. Those who do not come with sentences prepared will spend that time reading individually instead.
